Since we are an indoor farm, we service our products every season in a year.
Some things deserve to be grown locally!
Microgreens are tiny immature versions of vegetables and herbs which contain high nutrient levels and intense flavor which can be spicy, slightly sour or even bitter. These nutritious greens are turned into delicious plates while adding a variety of flavors, nice textural contrast and visual enrichment to the dish.
Microgreens are described as healthier versions of their full sized counterparts. Depending on the plant, they are harvested 1-3 weeks after planting. Their nutrient content is concentrated, they often contain higher vitamin, mineral and antioxidant levels compared to the same quantity of mature greens.
Microgreens have a variety of tastes and textures. Radish, Arugula, Cilantro and Nasturtium microgreens have spicy flavors. Radish Volcano is preferred for its beautiful dark purple color to create a visual contrast. While Pea Shoot microgreens are sweeter, Sunflower microgreens are nuty. Broccoli, Mizuna, Pak Choi microgreens have a mild flavor. Different microgreens complement different dishes. You can try from our variety of products, experiment freely and find the best option for you
If you want to enrich your dishes with unique flavors and enhance visual presentation, microgreens might be exactly what you are looking for. In addition, despite their small size, microgreens often contain higher nutrient levels than more mature vegetable greens.
Microgreens and sprouts are at different parts of the growing cycle of any given vegetable/herb. Compared to sprouts, microgreens take a little longer to grow, around one to three weeks. Sprouts are germinated seeds. The “germ” of the seed awakes from its slumber, and becomes a live plant. Therefore, they look and taste different. Microgreens are packed with more intense flavor and are often used as garnishes.
You can contact us from the form on our website. We’ll reach out to you in 48 hours. You can select from our variety of products which fits best to your menu and dishes. Because we grow to order, we ask orders to be submitted 14 days prior to first delivery. For the best experience in terms of taste and sustainability, we can deliver our microgreens with our living tray. Thus you can cut them whenever you need as fresh as possible and also avoid food waste and plastic packages. It is also possible to deliver harvested microgreens
Our delivery days are Tuesday and Friday. We can deliver harvested microgreens or in living trays so you can cut them whenever you need as fresh as possible. Since we are a local city-farm located in Berlin, our products do not travel across countries or cities therefore we reduce our carbon footprint by minimizing carbon emission due to transportation.
First of all, we put the soil on our tray. Then we place our seeds on the soil at certain intervals. It's important to leave seeds with a certain density. After placing the seeds, we cover them so that they will not be exposed to the light. For some seeds, we put weight on them. As soon as germination is complete, we put it under the light and water it until they are fully grown and tasty.
Microgreens are available in many different flavors, textures and sizes. From salads to smoothies, breakfast to fine dining plates; there is no recipe where microgreens cannot find a place. You can cut directly from the living tray and garnish your dish with microgreens however you want.
Although each microgreen has different content, what is common is that they are sources of potassium, iron, zinc, magnesium and copper. In addition, microgreens are very beneficial for your health, as they are rich in amino acids, protein and calcium.
Seeds for our microgreens come from well-known seed producers with the European organic seed certificate.
Vertical farming, one of the sustainable forms of agriculture, is a special method developed to produce fruits and vegetables on vertically inclined surfaces. Indoor farming technologies enable increased crop yield that comes with a smaller unit area of land requirement. In addition, crops are resistant to weather disruptions because of their placement indoors, resulting in fewer crops lost to unexpected weather occurrences. Also, by using this system, we are able to grow our microgreens without using any chemical fertilizers. Vertical farms can be hydroponic which involves growing plants without soil, by using an aqueous solvent or aeroponic that is growing plants in an air or mist environment. However, for the best experience in taste we use earth in our vertical farm.
We can briefly summarize the benefits of vertical farming as follows.
